"I'm beginning to think that this planet has a limited gene pool"

I'm behind because I was away this weekend, but here are some of my thoughts on Stargate: SG1 -- Avalon Loved it. Totally. Is it because of Ben Browder? Probably. I liked they way they integrated 'old' footage into the episode when the 'old' footage didn't exist in the first place. They have a bit of a mystery though, Jack made a comment like: he's got a million somebodies looking after him. And I thought he eluded that someone/race of people were looking after Cameron and were the ones to pull him from the downed ship. Now, that's totally guessing on my part and I may be looking into it too much. But Jack's comment was weird.

And I'll get this out of the way: Ben Browder / Claudia Black -- together again!!! Woooo. Ok, I was a Farscape fan.

The best line? "Let's make BAbies!!!!!" LOL!!! God it was hysterical. That whole scene was hysterical, between Daniel throwing the pillow at her, to Daniel checking that he kills her, he'll die. :-)

The best scene? When Daniel and Cameron are looking at the tablet and Voila says "I'm beginning to think that this planet has a limited gene pool" and Daniel and Cameron look up, then at each other, then back to her -- all in union. Because they do look similar, which is why (I suspect) that Daniel has the beard right now. He looks good in a beard though.

And Voila (I'm spelling it very wrong) has chemistry with everyone. I wish she would stay around... who needs Sam Carter anyway. *gg*

Stargate: Atlantis -- Siege III This, overall, gets an "ok" rating. My favorite bits were of John and Rodney. Rodney's all upset that John seems to have died because the hive ship blew up, and he was so relieved to find him in perfect health. There was another bit later, I can't remember what it was, but I just loved the show of friendship between the two.

Weir. God she has to go. I've really screwed myself with the character because I have such a huge hatred of her that everytime she is on screen I can't stand it. I've got to come to terms with her or I'm going to ruin the rest of the show for me.

The bit with Ford. *sigh* I liked Ford, a shame that he doesn't seem to be on the show anymore. I'm sure he'll show up later during one of the Sweeps, but still. I liked that he was so new to everything.

Rodney's commentary when she was putting in the ZPM was fantastic, *snap!* It's true though. You want/need someone to work faster, to fix it, but the last thing they need is someone going faster, do it faster!. But Rodney seems to excel under pressure. Go Rodney!

Haven't watched Battlestar Gallactica yet. I think that will be tonight. Plus there are two Daily Shows and The Family Guy to watch.

I made an appointment with my cable company to come out this Friday and give us digital cable. I will then attempt to hook up the TiVo to said digital cable. Ohboy. Everyone says I will love TiVo. I'm sure I will, but the thought of learning two techi things new at once scares me. Plus I rely so heavily on three separate VCRs. But I will prevail!

Oh, and here is a conversation I had with Mr.KA while at the Philles/Dodgers game last night.
Mr.KA: How's Harry Poooter? (that's how he says it)
Me: Fine, I haven't read anything since Monday.
Mr.KA: I read the last three pages.
Me: What? --- Why?
Mr.KA: I heard about something and wanted to check it out.
Me: So you read the last three pages. Really?
Mr.KA: Yes. So, do you know if anything happens in this book?
Me: There's a rumor that someone dies. --- Does someone die?
Mr.KA: *not so innocent smile* Don't know.

Bastard.

Oh yes. I love that he still gets as annoyed as ever, vocally, but does what he has to, all the same. It's all just talk, isn't it?

I think we may have discussed this before, but as I see it, the problem with Weir is that she's not a convincing actress. A better one could probably make this character more believable. But now, she has about two different facial expressions, concerned or pleased. She used "pleased" when she hugged Sheppard (a scene that I liked in a way, because of John's reaction. His shock and embarrassment was quite accurate...)

Need a Stargate Atlantis icon....

We may have talked about it before, but it does bare repeating. I agree, the character itself isn't as irritating as I think she is, it's just that this actress has no zing in her at all. She's boring and I just can't get behind her.

I agree that the Sheppard's reaction to the hug was cute, but I don't want them anywhere near each other romantically. Not even a little bit.
20th-Jul-2005 08:25 pm (UTC) - Gee I have another question for you
What does:

tags: tv Mean? Do?

I get this when I click on it:

Error

Sorry, tag filtering is not supported within S1 styles.

Is it me? lol

Lookee, new icon. *g* Has nothing to do with your question, just wanted to look at it.

Tags are a new feature in LJ. What is supposed to happen when you click on a Tag is that it brings up any journal entry with that Tag. So one of my Tags is CFTC, if you click on it the report I did, the picture posts, etc, will be one right after each other.

The reason it doesn't work for me/you, is because my journal is in the S1 style and the Tags can't work with that. I'm going to work on changing my LJ layout and colors and the Tags should work after that, it's why I'm using them now... for later.

Does that make sense?

You know, I have to agree with you overall on it. I did enjoy it. Yes, most likely because of Ben. I'm gonna miss my Jack... but if I had to have a replacement this time I am *not* complaining.

The whole first interaction between Cameron/Voila spanked to me of John/Aeryn - but I suppose that is to be expected. There was a moment there I swear Ben was trying not to smile at Claudia during that scene. I would give anything to have seen that taping!

Jack's comment was interesting, but I thought maybe he just meant that everyone is so grateful to Cameron for what he did. You know Jack and his tendency to exaggerate.

Two things bothered me... the characters all seemed a bit... off. Like Daniel and Teal'c were *too* eager to be leaving SG1. It just didn't seem like they cared anymore and they couldn't wait to be done with it. The other thing was the beard. (*ducks*) I hated it. No, it didn't make Daniel ugly or anything, I just don't like him with facial hair. Just like I didn't like Browder with facial hair in that ep on the island... Hmm, another similarity! *grins*

Well, yeah, cause we watched Farscape it's in the forefront of our mind. There was also the words Voila said, something like meeting him before. I figured it was an inside joke of sorts.

Hmmmm, possibly. I figured I was reaching, but it just seemed.... odd

And of course this is going to surprise you... but I didn't think they were that off. *g* Teal'c has been straddling both worlds for a while, and he feels the pull to his own people and wants to help and effect the changes to come. So with Jack retiring Teal'c may feel free to spend some time with the Jaffa.

The same goes for Daniel, in my mind. He wanted to go to Atlantis the first time but Jack didn't let him. So now that Jack is retired and things seem well in hand at the SGC, he's going to take the chance and head there. Something that seemed to be eating at him to do. So while Daniel's attitude was a tad rushed, he didn't give the new guy much leeway there, I think it's understandable that he would want to leave the SGC.

The beard. :) I like it, I like him without more, but I think it's looks kind of good on him. It won't last long. If you watched the hour special on SciFi you would have seen Daniel sans beard. I really think it was to make sure everyone knew that Daniel and Cameron were different. Of course then they made that joke about the gene pool. :)

I hope that without Jack you still enjoy, he will be missed, but Cameron (Ben Browder) is such a cool replacement.
