I'm behind because I was away this weekend, but here are some of my thoughts on
Stargate: SG1 -- Avalon Loved it. Totally. Is it because of Ben Browder? Probably. I liked they way they integrated 'old' footage into the episode when the 'old' footage didn't exist in the first place. They have a bit of a mystery though, Jack made a comment like: he's got a million somebodies looking after him. And I thought he eluded that someone/race of people were looking after Cameron and were the ones to pull him from the downed ship. Now, that's totally guessing on my part and I may be looking into it too much. But Jack's comment was weird.
And I'll get this out of the way: Ben Browder / Claudia Black -- together again!!! Woooo. Ok, I was a
Farscape fan.
The best line? "Let's make BAbies!!!!!" LOL!!! God it was hysterical. That whole scene was hysterical, between Daniel throwing the pillow at her, to Daniel checking that he kills her, he'll die. :-)
The best scene? When Daniel and Cameron are looking at the tablet and Voila says "I'm beginning to think that this planet has a limited gene pool" and Daniel and Cameron look up, then at each other, then back to her -- all in union. Because they do look similar, which is why (I suspect) that Daniel has the beard right now. He looks good in a beard though.
And Voila (I'm spelling it very wrong) has chemistry with everyone. I wish she would stay around... who needs Sam Carter anyway.
*gg* Stargate: Atlantis -- Siege III This, overall, gets an "ok" rating. My favorite bits were of John and Rodney. Rodney's all upset that John seems to have died because the hive ship blew up, and he was
so relieved to find him in perfect health. There was another bit later, I can't remember what it was, but I just loved the show of friendship between the two.
Weir. God she has to go. I've really screwed myself with the character because I have such a huge hatred of her that everytime she is on screen I can't stand it. I've got to come to terms with her or I'm going to ruin the rest of the show for me.
The bit with Ford.
*sigh* I liked Ford, a shame that he doesn't seem to be on the show anymore. I'm sure he'll show up later during one of the Sweeps, but still. I liked that he was so new to everything.
Rodney's commentary when she was putting in the ZPM was fantastic, *snap!* It's true though. You want/need someone to work faster, to fix it, but the last thing they need is someone going
faster, do it faster!. But Rodney seems to excel under pressure. Go Rodney!
Haven't watched
Battlestar Gallactica yet. I think that will be tonight. Plus there are two
Daily Shows and
The Family Guy to watch.
I made an appointment with my cable company to come out this Friday and give us digital cable. I will then attempt to hook up the TiVo to said digital cable. Ohboy. Everyone says I will love TiVo. I'm sure I will, but the thought of learning two techi things new at once scares me. Plus I rely so heavily on three separate VCRs. But I will prevail!
Oh, and here is a conversation I had with Mr.KA while at the Philles/Dodgers game last night.
Mr.KA: How's Harry Poooter? (that's how he says it)
Me: Fine, I haven't read anything since Monday.
Mr.KA: I read the last three pages.
Me: What? --- Why?
Mr.KA: I heard about something and wanted to check it out.
Me: So you read the last three pages. Really?
Mr.KA: Yes. So, do you know if anything happens in this book?
Me: There's a rumor that someone dies. --- Does someone die?
Mr.KA:
*not so innocent smile* Don't know.
Bastard.
Oh yes. I love that he still gets as annoyed as ever, vocally, but does what he has to, all the same. It's all just talk, isn't it?
I think we may have discussed this before, but as I see it, the problem with Weir is that she's not a convincing actress. A better one could probably make this character more believable. But now, she has about two different facial expressions, concerned or pleased. She used "pleased" when she hugged Sheppard (a scene that I liked in a way, because of John's reaction. His shock and embarrassment was quite accurate...)
